Our Story

Did you know...

Double-yolked eggs are often produced by young hens whose egg production cycles are not yet completely synchronized. They're often produced too, by hens which are old enough to produce Extra Large-sized eggs. Genetics is also a factor. Occasionally a hen will produce double-yolked eggs throughout her egg laying career. It's rare, but not unusual, for a young hen to produce an egg with no yolk at all.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Our hens are happy and healthy and produce the freshest, most nutritous brown eggs. They roam freely on pasture eating bugs and scratching through the grass to sanitize and fertilize just like birds in nature that always follow herbivores as biological cleansers.

The birds are suplemented with a 20%-protein nutrient-rich ration that provides top starting and growing nutrition. Once they reach 18 weeks, the hens are switched to a 16%-protein high-calcium ration formulated for top-producing laying birds.

This plant-based diet takes “natural” to a whole new level by using only the freshest, highest quality sun-grown grains and plant proteins to give birds the wholesome, healthy goodness and fresh taste they deserve. Made from natural plant-based ingredients FREE of all animal proteins and fats, these grains contains all the quality nutrients laying hens need to produce lots of strong-shelled, healthy, golden-yolked eggs.

Prices for 2010: $3.00 per dozen at the farm and $4.50 per dozen at the Farmers Market.
