Last year we raised a rafter of Broad-breasted Giant White turkeys. The majority were sold and several were kept to feed our family throughout the winter. This year we are again offering the Giant Whites as well as two different heritage breeds, the Narragansett and the Bourbon Red. Please refer to the Order Page and order early as production will be limited. Last year we sold out and had quite a few people desperately seeking a turkey right around the holidays*. As with the chickens, the turkeys will be raised on pasture with access to fresh grass and bugs on a daily basis as well as clean, chemical free well water 24/7. The poults are started on a plant-based high protein diet and then transitioned to a grower feed and then finisher as they get closer to market weight. We never use any kind of antibiotics or growth hormones and strive to be as organic as possible with our farming practices. |

*Please note* We do our best to have the turkeys ready at the optimum time for the holidays. The three different breeds we are planning to raise take different amounts of time to grow out to a certain weight. The order date is based on these times. Because of their rates of growth, and the weight of turkey you would like, they may be ready sometime before the holiday and require visit to the freezer before they are prepared for a delicious holiday dinner. Order deadlines are for Thanksgiving of this year. Many people buy one fresh for Thanksgiving and freeze one for Christmas. We enjoy turkey (in various forms) all year long.
